2 dead as Mercedes-Benz rams into truck in Abuja

ABUJA (CONVERSEER) – An accident involving a Mercedes-Benz 4Matic GL550 and a HOWO truck tipper has claimed the lives of two persons in Abuja.

Converseer reports that the accident occurred at about 1:00 AM on Friday on the Sani Abacha Expressway, Wuse.

The Mercedes was identified to have the following registration number: RBC-95DJ, while the truck was said to belong to Big-Dee Company from Nasarawa State.

Confirming the accident, the Head of Public Affairs at the Federal Emergency Management Department (FEMD), Nkechi Isa, said the Mercedes-Benz rammed into the rear of the truck, which was fully loaded with fine stones.

“The impact claimed the lives of the driver of the Mercedes-Benz and his female passenger on the spot. Their bodies have been deposited at the National Hospital morgue in Abuja,” Isa noted in a statement.

She further stated that personnel of the FEMD, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the FCT Police Command were at the scene of the incident.
