OUAGADOUGOU (CONVERSEER) – Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has arrived in Ouagadougou to participate in the 13th Joint Cooperation Commission between Ghana and Burkina Faso, scheduled for February 20, 2026.
He was received at Ouagadougou International Airport by Burkina Faso’s Foreign Minister, Jean Marie Traore.
The Ghanaian delegation includes senior officials and the country’s Special Envoy to the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), underscoring the strategic importance of the visit.
The ministerial session follows a preparatory meeting of experts held in October 2025 and is expected to formalise key recommendations through the signing of several agreements and official documents.
The Joint Cooperation Commission aims to deepen bilateral ties across multiple sectors while reinforcing the longstanding bonds between Accra and Ouagadougou.
Both governments view the meeting as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration in a regional environment shaped by persistent security and economic challenges, emphasising solidarity and closer consultation between the two neighbouring states.
