African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidates in Cross River State have endorsed former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the sole presidential candidate of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a joint statement issued on Monday and made available to Converseer, the ADC candidates said the endorsement came in after extensive consultations with the party supporters, stakeholders, and grassroots structures across the state.

The statement which was signed by various candidates, including Barrister Wilfred Usani, Prof. Joe Edet, Amb. Nkoyo Toyo, Dr Inyang Unoh, Hon. Johnson Okolie, Prince Paulinus Mbey, Ms Offiong Nsefik, and Chief Emmanuel Etenne, clearly stated that the endorsement was driven by a firm conviction that Nigeria requires experienced, inclusive, and visionary leadership, which can be found in the person of Atiku.
