A tragic incident occurred on Saturday evening (20th April 2024) at about 10pm in Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State.

A truck that was fully loaded with condemned irons rammed into a resident building located at Magistrate Road, close to Ediba Junction in Ugep.

The impact of the crash was devastating, and unfortunately, two persons lost their lives in the incident.

The victims have been identified as a young girl known as Cherry, and a two-year-old baby who were outside the house when the truck fell and crushed them.

The incident has left the community in mourning, as the loss of two innocent lives is a devastating blow to the entire community.

The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined, but it is believed that the driver of the truck might have lost control of the vehicle before the crash occurred.

The authorities involved have launched an investigation into the incident and have promised to bring the culprits to justice.

The families of the victims and the entire community have been left in shock and grief, as they come to terms with the loss of two innocent lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.
