Human rights activist and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has launched a new mobile application, ‘SoworeNow’, as part of efforts to build a digital platform for political mobilisation, volunteer coordination, fundraising and direct engagement with supporters ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.
An analysis by SaharaReporters shows that the application, currently at version 1.0.1, is designed as a comprehensive platform enabling supporters to register, receive campaign updates, volunteer for activities, make donations, and access campaign-related information directly from their mobile devices.
The app, branded SoworeNow, which is available for Android and IOS users, is built with a modern React Native framework, allowing it to run on Android and IOS devices while supporting future expansion to other platforms.
Findings by SaharaReporters indicate that the app contains several key features aimed at strengthening grassroots political organising through digital technology.

Among its major features are user registration and login, a dedicated news section for campaign updates, volunteer management tools, event coordination, donation capabilities, and a user profile dashboard.
The app also incorporates a points or reward system for volunteers, suggesting that supporters may earn recognition based on their participation in campaign activities.
The platform includes a digital wallet architecture and infrastructure for processing donations, underscoring its role as a fundraising tool for campaign operations.
It also contains support for notifications, enabling users to receive real-time alerts on campaign activities, announcements, and events.
In addition, the app is equipped with barcode-scanning capabilities, which could potentially be used for event check-ins, volunteer verification or campaign logistics.
The analysis further revealed that the app was configured with its own notification system under the “SoworeNow” branding and includes onboarding screens designed to introduce new users to the platform.
Political observers say the launch of the app reflects a growing trend among Nigerian politicians to rely on digital platforms rather than only on traditional campaign structures to mobilise supporters, coordinate volunteers and communicate directly with voters.
By combining news dissemination, volunteer management, fundraising, and event coordination in a single app, the platform seeks to create a central digital hub for supporters of the African Action Congress (AAC) and its presidential candidate, Sowore.
The move comes as the AAC and its presidential aspirant increasingly adopt technology-driven strategies to engage younger voters, many of whom rely heavily on smartphones and social media for political information.
The software analysis indicates that the app is intended to serve as a comprehensive campaign and community-building platform capable of supporting political organisation beyond conventional social media channels.
The launch of the app forms part of Sowore’s broader preparations for future political activities as attention fully shifts towards the 2027 general elections.
Introducing the app, Sowore said, “Fellow Nigerians, real change begins with action, and action begins with you; that is why we launched the ‘SoworeNow’ app.
“It is just one app where you can get verified campaign updates, join the rallies, connect with other supporters, and support the movement.”
