Yuki Gambaryan, the wife of the detained American former federal agent Tigran Gambaryan, has been pleading with the US government to do more to have her husband released and for Mr Campbell to raise Tigran’s case directly.
Yuki Gambaryan said, “I have been quite surprised that still, two months later, the American government has not been able to get a former federal agent, who still works closely with US law enforcement, out of this terrible situation.

“If they have been working to get Tigran out of this mess I am not aware of it. I don’t know who’s doing what. I personally have seen very little progress and nothing decisive – I don’t even know if Deputy Secretary Campbell raised Tigran’s case when he visited Nigeria today.
“I thought the US government deeply cared about the safety and wellbeing of American citizens, but I personally have not felt any sense of urgency or understanding for our situation from the state department. The nightmare continues,” she said.
