President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Minister of Works, Engineer David Umahi, as he marks his birthday on July 25, describing him as one of the most outstanding ministers in his administration.
This was conveyed in a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President, Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga in Abuja on Saturday.
Prior to his appointment as Minister of Works, Umahi represented Ebonyi South Senatorial District in the Senate and served as the Governor of Ebonyi State for two consecutive terms from May 2015 to May 2023.
The presidency said his administration was widely recognised for delivering transformative infrastructure across the state.
President Tinubu commended the minister for his unwavering commitment to developing durable road infrastructure, describing him as a dedicated public servant whose passion, diligence, and patriotism continue to drive progress in the nation’s road sector.
The president also urged Engineer Umahi to sustain the momentum in road construction and rehabilitation, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda’s commitment to improving infrastructure, enhancing economic growth, and raising the standard of living for Nigerians.
According to the President, “Engineer Umahi has been one of my most hardworking and outstanding ministers. He is deeply committed to his responsibilities and has remained focused on delivering quality roads and bridges designed to stand the test of time.
“Rather than relying solely on reports, he is constantly on project sites across the country, personally inspecting construction works to ensure strict compliance with approved standards and specifications.”
President Tinubu joined the minister’s family, friends, and associates in celebrating the occasion and prayed for his continued good health, strength, and wisdom as he remains in service to the nation.
