Military personnel deployed to Bawku involved in an accident

Some military personnel deployed to Bawku in the Upper East Region were involved in a road accident at Nkenkesu in the Ashanti Region on Sunday, July 26, after the vehicle transporting them collided with a State Transport Corporation (STC) bus.

According to preliminary information, the crash involved a military truck carrying the personnel and an STC passenger bus. The circumstances leading to the collision remain unclear, and authorities are yet to establish the exact cause of the accident.

Emergency responders, including officers from the Ghana Police Service, were swiftly dispatched to the scene to coordinate rescue efforts, manage traffic, and commence preliminary investigations into the incident.

As of the time of reporting, officials have not confirmed the number of casualties or disclosed the extent of injuries sustained by those involved in the crash. The identities of the injured have also not been made public.

The accident temporarily disrupted traffic along the stretch as security personnel and emergency teams worked to clear the scene and assist affected passengers and military personnel.
