The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, has arrested four (4) suspects in connection with the alleged vandalism and theft of aluminum roofing sheets from the School of Nursing, Hadejia.
According to a statement by Badruddeen Mahmud CDPRO,
NSCDC Jigawa State, thensuspects were apprehended on 28th July, 2026, by operatives of the NSCDC Gandun Sarki Division while conducting routine surveillance as part of the Corps’ mandate to safeguard Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI).
He said during the operation, the suspects were intercepted behind the perimeter fence of the School of Nursing, Hadejia, in possession of thirteen (13) square metres (13m²) of aluminum roofing sheets suspected to have been removed from the ongoing renovation works at the institution.
The suspects are:
1. Adamu Mohd, male, 31 years, of Ramin Zaki Quarters, Hadejia. He is employed as a security guard at the School of Nursing, Hadejia.
2. Dan Inu Mohd, male, 35 years, of Gandun Sarki, Malam Madori Local Government Area. Occupation: Carpenter.
3. Isma’ila Adamu, male, 30 years, of Gandun Sarki, Malam Madori Local Government Area. Occupation: Tricycle rider.
4. Bashari Yahaya, male, 25 years, of Gandun Sarki, Malam Madori Local Government Area. Occupation: Apprentice.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that one of the principal suspects is a member of the school’s security personnel. This development has exposed a significant security lapse within the institution’s internal security architecture.
“Consequently, the Command has formally drawn the attention of the management of the School of Nursing, Hadejia, to the identified security gap and advised the institution to strengthen its internal security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future”, the statement reads in part.
The State Commandant, CC Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa, warned individuals involved in vandalism, theft, and other acts of economic sabotage to desist, stressing that the Corps would continue to intensify surveillance, intelligence gathering, and enforcement operations to ensure offenders are brought to justice.
