Villarreal boss blasts hot-tempered Eagles striker

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has come under fire for his behaviour during Galatasaray’s pre-season friendly against Villarreal on Saturday.

Despite scoring a goal and Galatasaray losing the game 2-1, the major talking point centred around Osimhen, and not for his goalscoring exploits. Instead, it was sparked by an ugly altercation he had with an opposing defender, Santiago Mourino.

Villarreal head coach Inigo Perez was visibly unhappy about the incident and did not mince words when criticising Osimhen after the match, arguing that the Nigerian forward deserved a red card.

”There’s not much to say about the football, because the opposing team didn’t come onto the field to play football, but to fight,” Perez said.

”Osimhen attacked our player out of nowhere and only got a yellow card.”
