A migrant centre was what they voted for

If you’re British and don’t break out in a rash if you can’t get a Starbucks at 2 am, you’ve probably been to Piddington. Not Piddington per se, but one of the thousands of Piddingtons all over the country. I have never been to Piddington.
The village itself is ancient, part of the estate owned, as recorded in the Domesday Book, by the Countess Judith, niece of William the Conqueror – Total value of the estate in 1068 was £4.
The current village is surrounded by agricultural land, but most of the inhabitants will not be tilling the land. They will be middle-class professionals who have chosen to move there because of Piddington’s location – in the Chilterns, between Oxford, Bicester, High Wycombe, Banbury and Thame. And with plenty of excellent railway and motorway links. Needless to say, property prices there are very, very high.
Now the 350 residents of Piddington have been told that 1250 illegal migrant men are being moved to the adjoining Bicester Barracks, and they are furious. Marches have been arranged, protests, and even a demand for a referendum to leave the UK – A Passport to Piddington scenario.
But why? Why do the people object to what they have voted for?
Piddington has a Lib Dem councillor and a Lib Dem MP. The Lib Dems believe detention should be a last resort, and that means asylum seekers should be released into the community and allowed to work, and their families should be able to come and join them in the UK as soon as possible. Would the residents of Piddington prefer that? The MP, Calum Miller, complains the site is located “miles from shops and towns” and suggests speeding up the asylum hearings, which will result in a more rapid release of asylum seekers (and their families) into the community. Maybe we should build a new development of 100 houses on the outskirts of Piddington and settle them there?
Let’s be honest here, these residents are the sort of people who like to vote Lib Dem. They like to signal how right-thinking they are and then choose to live in an area as far away from the chaos they are creating as possible. If Labour have done one good thing this Parliament, it’s this: settling the illegals all over the country will wake up far more middle-class do-gooders than Nigel Farage ever could.
And the Labour party told the public this is what they would do before the election :
Right before the general election, Ange was telling you that you WERE going to get asylum seekers wherever you lived. And still you went out and voted Lib Dem, or didn’t even bother to vote?
Now you are going to reap the rewards for your virtue-signalling. You thought you were safe in the Chilterns. Now you know differently. And there are plenty of other military camps in leafy areas. If there’s one near you, don’t imagine they won’t use it. Calum Miller is going to do absolutely nothing to help you, that’s for sure. He probably thinks you’re racists. He wants the asylum seekers, just not where he lives or where his voters live.
Learn your lesson, start voting and planning to rid the country of these sorts of politicians forever.
Looking on the bright side for a moment, at least holding them in an enormous army camp, with built-in facilities, means they won’t be wandering the streets of Piddington, Bournemouth or London. They won’t be harassing and attacking young women, hanging around outside schools, or forming gangs and dealing drugs. They’ll be securely held, away from the public.

[Burnham] announced that, when it comes to accommodating asylum seekers, “all parts of the country” must “play their part”. And when he says “all”, he really does mean all. It’s unfair, he explains, that Channel migrants are almost invariably housed among Britain’s “poorest communities”. So from now on, he’s going to house them in middle-class areas, as well.
At first glance, this may not seem like an ideal outcome. But let’s look on the bright side. Burnham’s plan should have at least one tremendous benefit. Smug, middle-class progressives will finally receive their comeuppance because, for the very first time, they’ll be forced to face the consequences of their own idiotic beliefs.
No longer will they be able to proclaim that refugees are welcome here, safe in the knowledge that the “refugees” will in reality be deposited in the type of frightful, gammony dumps that vote Reform, far from their own charming locales. And, just as importantly, no longer will they be able to delude themselves about the type of men that the boats tend to contain.
These delusions were exquisitely exemplified by the BBC comedian, Zoe Lyons, during an edition of Question Time in November last year. Britain, she declared, was “missing a trick” by failing to take advantage of all the “talent” that the small boats’ occupants have to offer. “Many” of them, she explained, are “doctors”, “scientists” and “engineers”.
Seemingly, it had not occurred to her that, if these men were doctors, scientists and engineers, they wouldn’t be coming to Britain by dinghy. They’d be coming by plane because they would have easily secured a visa.
Also, if the boats are filled with doctors, scientists and engineers, why do the French do so little to prevent them from setting sail? Surely, Emmanuel Macron should be on the phone to the gendarmes of Calais, bellowing: “Stop the boats at once! We cannot allow the British to steal these thousands of brilliant Somali inventors and Afghan Nobel winners! For the sake of France’s future, we must keep these geniuses here! Even as we speak, one of them is probably devising a revolutionary breakthrough in nuclear fusion!”
At any rate, such imbecilic fantasies will not survive Burnham’s new plan. As a result, middle-class Left-wingers should belatedly grasp why it is that the rest of the country is so unhappy about illegal immigration, and realise that it’s not merely because everyone is a massive racist.
