Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje, representing Gombe Central Senatorial District, has said he is yet to decide his political future ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Goje, a former governor of Gombe State and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), disclosed this on Saturday while addressing his supporters at his residence in Gombe metropolis.

The senator said he was currently consulting and assessing the political situation, including those already positioning themselves for various elective offices ahead of the 2027 elections.

“I have not decided my next move for 2027. I am currently consulting and weighing the politics and those in the race,” Goje said.

He urged his supporters to remain calm and await his decision, assuring them that he would communicate his next political move at the appropriate time.

“I ask you all my supporters to go home and relax. You will soon hear from me. Just go and wait for my next move and message. Let’s all get prepared and ready for whatever comes next,” he said.

Goje, however, dismissed any suggestion that he had left the APC, stressing that he remained a member of the ruling party.

“Mind you, I have not left the APC. I am a member of the APC. All those in APC, PDP, ADC, NDC and others are my people. Therefore, as of today, I am still in the APC,” he said.

Reflecting on his political career spanning more than four decades, Goje said he had contested several elections and had never lost one.

He recalled that he initially planned to retire from active politics after announcing his retirement in 2019 but returned to contest the 2023 election following pressure from his supporters.

Goje also assured his constituents that his empowerment programmes would continue irrespective of his political decision, saying he would continue supporting his people even if he eventually leaves the Senate or active politics.

“I want to assure you that my empowerment programmes will continue with or without me at the Senate,” he said.
