Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, will on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, launch the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Vigilant App and MTN Closed User Group (CUG) Network in Abuja.

The launch is scheduled to take place at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, Federal Capital Territory, as part of ongoing efforts by the Force to strengthen technology-driven policing and improve operational efficiency.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, the NPF Vigilant App is designed to enhance communication, information sharing and engagement between the police and members of the public.

The MTN CUG Network, on the other hand, will provide a dedicated communication platform for personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, facilitating faster and more efficient internal communication.

The Force said the initiative reflects the commitment of IGP Disu to deploying modern technology and strategic partnerships to improve policing and strengthen coordination among police personnel.

The launch is also expected to support more effective information flow within the Force while improving the delivery of security services to Nigerians.
