The National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) has sealed four facilities in Nasarawa State over non-compliance with environmental standards and regulations.
The enforcement exercise, carried out last Thursday, aligned with the Agency’s mandate to protect the environment and prohibit activities that undermine environmental sustainability and public health.
The enforcement team, led by the Head of Operations of the Karu Operational Office of NESREA, Mr. Da’am Monday, shut down ABZAT Quarry, Hoafong Mining Trading Company Ltd, Emono Venture, and Mivanyi Integrated Farms for offences ranging from air pollution to lack of environmental management documents such as an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
NESREA reiterates its commitment to ensuring strict compliance with environmental laws, standards, and regulations nationwide.
Facilities are urged to adopt environmentally responsible practices and deploy best available technology in their operations.
This enforcement exercise further demonstrates NESREA’s resolve to safeguard the environment, protect public health, and ensure sustainable development across the country.
