Liverpool 2-0 Everton

“A big game to start the weekend, I can’t wait. I know Jurgen Klopp won’t be happy to have another early kick-off, particularly straight from the international break. Some of these lads will be coming back from South America, it’s difficult to manage the squad like that.

Everton hammered Bournemouth before the break, but this will be real test for them here. It’s a big month for the club, some tough fixtures are coming up. I never worry about them at home, can this squad get results on the road?

Everton have a terrible record at Anfield, I can only see one winner.”

One to watch- “Salah has scored in so many of these matches down the years, can Everton stop him this time? “

Brentford 2-1 Burnley

“The break probably came at the right time for Brentford, it’s been a difficult month for the club. That defeat at Old Trafford will have been heartbreaking, I’ve been in that position as a manager, and you can’t sleep after a result like that! This is a good chance for them to get back on track.

It’s been a tough start to the season for Kompany and his side, but the fixtures ease up a little over the next few weeks. I worry about this lot at the back though, they concede too many for my liking.

I’m picking Brentford, they’re a good side at home.”

One to watch- “Mbuemo is a big player for Brentford, I can see him getting a goal.”

Bournemouth 1-2 Wolves

“Here we go, the Gary O’Neill derby! The pressure is really on Bournemouth, they’ve still not won a game this season. That performance at Goodison last time was a shambles, I’m worried for them.

A win over City and a point against Villa, it’s been a good couple of weeks for Wolves. I’m happy for Gary, he’s a good lad who I thought Bournemouth were harsh to get rid of, he’ll want his side to go on a good run now.

I think Wolves leave with the three points.”

One to watch- “Hwang has been Wolves’ best player this season. He’s got 5 in the league so far and could add to that here.”

Forest 2-0 Luton

“This is a big one for Forest. They drew with Palace last time out and they probably should have got the win. Steve Cooper will think his side are a level above Luton, he’ll be expecting a win.

That game against Spurs was a real battle, Luton will be disappointed to not get at least a point from it. This side just don’t score enough goals, they’ll be hoping Ross Barkley can give them bit of quality and composure.

Forest should have too much quality for Luton.”

One to watch- “Dominguez has looked a class act since he signed for Forest. He could pull the strings for them here.”

Man City 4-1 Brighton

“We should see a good game at the Etihad here. It’s been a difficult couple of weeks for City, very unlike them. They’ve had a bit of time to recover though, and with Rodri back in the side, I’d expect the real City here. Foden was different class against Italy during the week, I hope we see more of that here.

Not many teams will go to City and try to play them at their own game, but I think Brighton will. It will be a good game to watch but I worry that they’ll be too open, too easy for City to play against.

I’m sure we’ll see goals; I can see a comfortable City win.”

One to watch- “Rodri was a huge miss for City, it’s no coincidence that they dropped points without him. He does a little bit of everything for them in midfield.”

Newcastle 2-0 Palace

“Newcastle were flying before the break, Eddie will be hoping they’ve not lost a bit of that momentum. They’ve got Dortmund at home on Wednesday, this will be an ideal way for them to get back to that form.

Palace are always organised, always hard to beat, they just don’t score a lot. I thought Guehi was terrific for England when he came on during the week, that’s a top partnership that him and the lad Andersen have.

Palace will travel up north and try to frustrate them, slow the game down, that sort of thing. I just think this Newcastle side are too good for that and will get the win.”

One to watch-“I’m a big fan of Anthony Gordon, he’s a bit of a throwback player with the way he takes players on and skips past them. He’s got to improve his discipline though, getting 5 yellows at this stage of the season isn’t good, particularly for a winger!”

Chelsea 1-2 Arsenal

“I’m not sure what to expect at the Bridge. I’m seeing signs of life from Chelsea; Raheem Sterling has been absolutely brilliant in recent weeks. It’s easy to forget just how many good players are in this squad, if Poch can figure a lineup and keep those lads happy, they’ll climb right back up the table.

That Arsenal winner over City was a massive moment in the season. Arteta will have to make sure his side don’t get carried away though, there’s a long, long way to go in the season. He’s put together a really good squad though, when you’re able to bring on a lad like Martinelli off the bench that says it all!

I don’t think there will be much in this. I’m going for the Arsenal though, 2-1.”

One to watch- “Jesus should be fit enough to start this one. They’ve missed him, he’s got so much quality on the ball.”

Sheffield United 1-1 Man United

“A Saturday night under the lights at Bramall Lane, this will be a proper match! Their last home game was that 8-0 loss to Newcastle, it can’t get worse than that. They give City a tough game here though, I can see them frustrating United.

They got that late win over Brentford, but I think that might have just papered over the cracks for United. Rashford has had a poor start to the season but that was a trademark goal from him against Italy, he should be able to build on that here.

I saw the lad Hojlund was complaining during the week about some of San Marino’s tackles on him, I’d be letting my defenders know about that if was the Sheffield United manager! They’ll sit in with their 5 at the back and play for set pieces and I can see them nicking a point.”

One to watch- “It’s been an erratic start to his United career, how will Onana get on? Sheffield United will be putting balls in the box, testing him from corners, this will be a big test for him.”

Villa 1-1 West Ham

“It’s been a good start to the season for both these sides, we’ll see a good one at Villa Park. Villa destroyed Brighton in their last home game and Emery will be wanting to turn that place into a fortress. Watkins getting on the scoresheet for England as well, this lad is just getting better and better.

The Hammers got a point against Newcastle last time and they’re probably going under the radar. When you look at the squad Moyes has put together, there’s a lot of quality, a lot of good pros.

West Ham are a difficult side to beat, I can see them getting something from this.”

One to watch- “James Ward-Prowse has started the season superbly and must have been gutted to miss out on the England squad. All the lad can do is to keep his head down, keep performing, and I’m sure Gareth will be giving him a call in no time.”

Tottenham 2-0 Fulham

“Spurs are flying, big Ange is doing a fantastic job. I don’t see this side winning the title, but they can absolutely get in the top four. If they can keep winning though, who knows how far they can go? They’ve got nothing to lose and no European football to contend with, that’s a dangerous combination.

Fulham haven’t been high scoring; they still miss big Mitrovic up top. So far, they’ve beaten the teams they should beat and lost to the teams you’d expect. Marco Silva will look to add to his squad in January.

I’ve got to pick Spurs here. Fulham are a solid side, so I don’t see them conceding loads of goals, 2-0 Spurs.”

One to watch- “Udogie has been a brilliant signing for Spurs, and he was probably Italy’s best player against England. This young lad is only going to get better.”
