Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Uyo Zonal Command, on Thursday, 30th May 2024, arrested 40 suspected internet fraudsters in early morning sting operations at two different locations in the state.
21 of the all-male suspects were arrested in Eket, while the remaining 19 were picked up in Ikot Ekpene.

Items recovered from the suspects upon arrest include one Toyota SUV XLE, nine laptop computers, 64 smartphones, one internet router and a smartwatch.
“They will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations,” a statement from the EFCC said.
