Businessman launches ferry to run Cross River, Akwa Ibom waterways

A Niger Delta Businessman, Akinaka Richard, has launched a ferry transport service company known as Abitto Ferry.

Abitto Ferry comprises jetties and boats of global standard.

CONVERSEER learned that the Abitto Ferry ferries Passengers through the waterways from Calabar in Cross River State to Uyo in Akwa Ibom, and vice versa.

According to NigerDelta Insider, the transport service will be launched on 1st June 2024, at the Marina Resort in Calabar at 10 am.

The Managing Director, MD/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr Samuel Ogbuku, is the special guest of honour.

“People travelling between both states can now have an alternative transport system different from road transport,” the report said.

The Jetties and Boats were built by Akinaka’s company, Abitto Global Service.
