Alleged N136m Fraud: Katsina Anti-Corruption Agency Detains Permanent Secretary and Five Others

The Katsina State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested a permanent secretary and five other state government officials over alleged misappropriation of N136.1 million.

The commission’s Secretary, Alhaji Jamilu Abdulsalam, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Katsina.

He said: “The commission has arrested the former Permanent Secretary of the Department of Banking and Finance who is the current Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Muheeb Ibrahim, alongside five others.

“The suspects are linked to alleged misappropriation of N136,126,970 from the department’s account.”

“The commission is investigating the matter to uncover the full details and ensure accountability.”

Abdulsalam said the alleged offence was committed between October 2023 and 2024.

“The suspects have been detained and will be charged to court at the end of the investigation,” the secretary added.
