Anambra Lawmaker Kidnapped and Murdered Laid to Rest

The remains of the member representing Onitsha North 1 Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Justice Azuka, have been laid to rest on Saturday, February 15.

 

Azuka, a Labour Party Chieftain, was kidnapped on December 24, 2024, along Ugwunaobankpa Road in Inland Town, Onitsha, while returning home for Christmas. Sadly, his lifeless body was found at the Second Niger Bridge on February 6, 2025.

 

The funeral mass for the deceased lawmaker was held at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Onitsha. It was attended by the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, Speaker Anambra State House of Assembly, Somtochukwu Udeze, his deputy and other members of the Anambra State House of Assembly.

 

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election Peter Obi, LP senators and House of Representatives members as well as other dignitaries, were also in attendance.
