Canaan Queens Clinch Bronze at ITTF 2025 African Clubs Championships

Tunis, Tunisia – The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) 2025 African Clubs Championships which took place in Tunisia, has come to a victorious close, with Canaan Queens of the Canaan Table Tennis Club of Calabar, representing the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF), carted away a Bronze medal, to the admiration of the sports world.

The Canaan Queens made Nigeria and, indeed, Cross River State proud, as they came out as the top three out of the 54 Countries that participated in the competition.

The tournament’s final, which was held at the Palais des Sports dEl Menzah in Tunis, on Tuesday, saw defending champions Petrojet of Egypt clinched gold after defeating Zamalek of South Africa 3-1.

Canaan Queens of Nigeria, on the other hand, clinched the bronze after defeating Arousa Sports of Tunisia 3-0 in a third-place match.

Expressing joy over a successful outing, the Chairman of the Canaan Table Tennis Club, Rt. Hon. Orok Duke, congratulated the Queens, saying that the victory, once again, positions Nigeria as one of the best in the world, both in Table Tennis and in other sports.

Duke, Cross River State representative in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Board, also appreciated the Governor, Sen. Bassey Otu, for the support, saying his encouragements greatly inspired the players.

The team is expected back in the country after the week-long sporting event in Tunisia.
