One of the socio-political groups that saw the election of Governor Bassey Otu, Cross River State Political Network (CRISPON) has constituted not less than a 100-man committee to mark the Governor’s 100 days in office.
According to a public notice electronically signed by Dr Prince Michael Nku Abuo, Director-General of CRISPON, on Monday, the group with one of the largest online and offline members, said the committee members cut across the 18 Local Government Areas that made up the state.
Abuo said activities have been earmarked for three days, adding that, “The significance of celebrating the driving of the People’s First government this one year is in the sense that His Excellency has clearly shown that the building and establishment of a new and properly refined Cross River State are indeed possible.
“From his agricultural reforms in concluding of a comprehensive soil test analysis for agrorevolution and activation of various agricultural value chain initiatives; to boosting of our state IGR to over 100 percent of it original figure hence making additional funds available to drive the people’s first agenda; sealing deals and positive image projection of Cross River State as seen in your engagements with foriegn diplomats and international organisation like the EU Commission, AUDA-NEPAD and your bomb blasting AFREXIM 3.5billion deal to kick start or deep sea port and 217KM Superhighway; massive infrastructural uplift across the state as seen in the independent power projects of Ministries in the state, road construction and maintenance across the state; increasing remunerations of civil servants and pushing for the pension and civil service reforms, deepening executive relationship with the legislature and judiciary, facelift of our Government house and facilitating access to finance to thousands of SMEs and MSMEs in the state; payment of WAEC and NECO fees for secondary school pupils of Cross River State origin and above all leading with the fear of God and making him a focal point of your administration etc.
“These and many more achievements he has attained within one year in office is a historical statement and mark and shows that the future for the people of the state is secured and as we- CRISPON used to say in our CRISPON Campaign slogan: SWEET PRINCE! POSITIVELY REFORMING AND TRANSFORMING CROSS RIVER STATE!! Your Excellency you are indeed reforming and transforming Cross River State hence we have all cause and reason to praise God and celebrate your one year in office as we pray for more grace for bigger and greater exploit.”
Below is the central planning committee drawn across the state and the programme of events for the 3 days of activities to mark this epoch-making year.
