The Chief Whip of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Hilary Bisong on Monday celebrated the 2023 Christmas with Persons Living with Disabilities, PLWD, in his constituency, promising them monthly stipends.

He noted also that humans have different creative abilities, which if put to positive use, can become successful, without recourse to physical deformities.

“Disability is a thing of the mind. Every human being can be creative, and this goes beyond physical appearances. There is no limitation to success, neither the wheelchair nor visual impairment can stop a determined mind,” Bisong said.

The Chief Whip expressed confidence in the exploits of PLWD who according to him, have demonstrated self-reliance and have carved a niche for themselves by their sheer creative ability.

Bisong further pledged continued support to them, while also calling on well-meaning individuals to show them support and not discrimination.

He presented them with items such as; bags of rice, spaghetti, bags of beans, bathing soaps, detergent, gallons of vegetable oil and cash support. He also promised a monthly stipend for them.

Rt. Hon. Bisong took the time out to celebrate with every one of his constituency, who also pledged their unflinching support for the lawmaker’s course.

The Christmas celebration tour began from Ogep Ward, where constituents and supporters in their numbers, welcomed the lawmaker and his entourage with a rousing applause, pouring their accolades on the man they described as a “True Son Of Boki.”

Receiving the Honorable Member in Arongba Community, Duala, constituents described him as a light to the Boki Nation.

In Agba Osokom Ekpashi Ward, the immediate political unit of the Rt. Honourable, the visit was like the biblical triumphant entry. Constituents and supporters filed out to welcome the man they called their Hero. “You have proven that you are our Hero, a shining light and ambassador of Agba”, they said.

He told them that having given their mandate it was time to return to appreciate and celebrate with them.

Addressing party faithful in Obubra-Bansan, the highest-ranking Member of the Cross River State House of Assembly said his continued elevation is rooted in God’s grace. He said that everything happens according to God’s plans. According to him, all his travails have been carefully arranged for greater glory.

In Ntamante and Nkim of Ekpashi, the largesse was also received adequately. In all the places visited, the people prayed for Rt. Hon. Bisong and blessed him.

The tour which went round the six Political Wards of the Constituency, was a huge success.

Items shared with Constituents include; bags of rice, beans, spaghetti, and bags of salt. others include packs of maggi, detergents, bathing soaps, gallons of vegetable oil, tomatoes, as well as cash.
