25 years after joining the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in 1999, Dominic Edet Henshaw has left the party.

Henshaw said the ideology of the party has changed over the last 25 years.

In a resignation letter addressed to the Chairman of the party in Ward 7 in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State, on Tuesday, 6 February 2024, Henshaw said he can no longer be a part of such political ideology which opposes his stand.

The Chieftain who decried bias and unfairness under the current leadership, hope that the members left behind will address the cancer eating up the party.

“I, Dominic Edet Henshaw joined the Peoples Democratic Party in 1999 in hopes of creating a political power that will serve the needs of the people.

“I envisioned a party where all people are treated equally regardless of ethnicity, income, religion, zone or demography. I had hopes that all people/zones would be given a fair chance for leadership, but unfortunately, this is not the case under the current leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Cross River State and I can no longer be a part of such political ideology.

“Therefore, for the reason stated above, I am hereby resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) effective 6th February 2024

“I wish everyone and my former members the best in the future and hope that they can help change the party for the better,” the resignation letter personally signed by Henshaw read.

CONVERSEER reports that Henshaw was one time a Ward Chairman and Delegate under the PDP.
