Dramatic Late Equalizer by Everton Denies Liverpool in Exciting Merseyside Derby

A last-gasp equaliser saw Everton hold city rivals Liverpool to a 2-2 draw in a Premier League clash at the Goodison Park on Wednesday night.

The Merseyside derby was holding for the last time at the Goodison Park and the tie lived up to expectations, with both sides in high spirits.

Leaders Liverpool were leading 2-1 into the dying minutes when James Tarkowski scored to level for the Toffees, and get the home crowd shouting at the top of their lungs.

Jarrad Branthwaite’s free-kick caught Liverpool cold and Beto slid a composed finish past Alisson, but Alexis Mac Allister equalised soon after, and Mohamed Salah put the Reds ahead in the second half.

With the result, Liverpool remain seven points clear at the top of the Premier League – but it was Everton who were more satisfied with the result as they sit 15th.

Both Everton and Liverpool end on 41 wins apiece in derbies played in the old arena.
