EARCOM lauds Akwa Ibom girl who scored 344 in JAMB

Akwa Ibom Girl, Kendarambomabasi Sunday Umanah with an outstanding JAMB Result of 344 out of a possible 400 has been commended by the Ethical and Attitudinal Reorientation Commission, EARCOM, for posting an excellent performance in the results of the recent Joint Admissions and Matriculations Examination (JAMB).

Head of the Media and Advocacy Unit of EARCOM, Rev. Osondu Ahirika who spoke on behalf of the Chairman of the Commission, Dr Dorothy Thompson, also lauded Royalty Special College Int’l, for preparing the student for such a feat.

Kendarambomabasi Umanah whose father, Sunday Umana is a Lecturer in the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Uyo (UNIUYO), registered for Mathematics, Principles of Accounting, Economics and English Language.

Ahirika stated that the State is proud of the girl who has excelled in an examination that recorded an unusually very poor result in recent times and was able to excel where many others couldn’t describing her as a role model other students should emulate by focusing on their academics and not vices.

EARCOM, he noted, is satisfied with the feat attained by the student and enjoined School teachers to be diligent in grooming students so they can come out with excellent results during examinations.

It will be recalled that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has unveiled the results of the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with only 0.4% or 8,401 candidates achieving scores of 300 and above.

The announcement made by JAMB’s Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, during a press conference held at the board’s headquarters in Abuja disclosed that a total of 1.94 million candidates registered and participated in the examination.
