Calabar, Nigeria – The former Technical Adviser to former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Mr Philip Obin, has lamented the high electricity tarrif he received in just one month.
Obin who received an electricity bill of N1.2 million from the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED), one of the Distribution Companies (DisCos), decry the pains business owners and ordinary Nigerians are going through.
The former TA to the former VP, now a businessman, received the bill on Tuesday in Calabar, Cross River State capital.
Taking to Facebook to err his displeasure, Obin wrote:
“I just received N1,267,402.14 as electricity bill for just one month.
“How can small businesses survive in Calabar with this kind of electricity bills, plus all of the other monthly obligations, taxes, etc?
“It’s well with me and everyone else running a business here!”
