France has deported a Muslim Iman, Mahjoub Mahjoubi, days after he disrespected the French flag calling it ‘satanic.’

Mahjoubi, originally from Tunisia posted a viral video earlier last week where he ranted about the “tricolour flag” calling it “satanic” whilst saying it has “no value with Allah”.

French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said his comments were “unacceptable remarks” and he was immediately arrested and deported.

According to the BBC, the man had been living in France for 38 years whilst working as an Iman at a mosque in the small town of Bagnols-sur-Cèze, in the south of France.

He was described as a ‘radical’ by the French Interior Ministry.
