President John Dramani Mahama has urged the people of Bawku in the Upper East Region to embrace peace as they observe Ramadan.
The president made the appeal on Monday, 31st March 2025, at the Accra’s Black Star Square on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration.
He highlighted the importance of unity and reconciliation during the sacred month.
Addressing ongoing tensions in Bawku, the Ghanaian Head of State appealed to all factions to put aside their differences and work towards lasting peace, emphasizing that conflict disrupts lives and slows development.
He further called on religious and traditional leaders to take an active role in promoting dialogue and fostering harmony among the people.
Mahama reaffirmed his commitment to supporting peace efforts in Bawku, urging residents to reflect on values such as love, forgiveness, and unity for a stronger, more peaceful community.
