NSIT UBIUM – As part of his administration’s support for the media, Governor Umo Eno has announced the donation of a brand-new SUV to the Akwa Ibom State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

The Governor also donated 14 salon cars to members of the NUJ Executive Council.

Pastor Eno who made the donation at the 2025 NUJ Thanksgiving Service held at The Apostolic Church, Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of the state, also pledged to complete the ongoing construction of the NUJ Secretariat building.

He further urged journalists in the state to partner with his administration in driving growth and development.

Gov Eno Donates SUV to NUJ Chairman, 14 Salon Cars to Exco Members

Governor Eno commended the NUJ for organising the Thanksgiving Service to honour God and for hosting the event in Ikot Ekpene Udo.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining peace and promoting inclusive governance through a bottom-up approach.

The Governor acknowledged the existing harmony between the government and the media, attributing it to the administration’s dedication to the ARISE Agenda, which he described as a framework ensuring sustainable development and progress for the state.

Governor Eno also emphasised the vital role of the media in shaping public perception. He tasked journalists to work towards changing negative narratives and projecting Akwa Ibom State in a positive light.

He urged them to highlight the state’s achievements, opportunities, and potential while maintaining objectivity and professionalism in their reporting.

Governor Eno also called on Akwa Ibom people to promote unity, be their brother’s keeper, and support their leaders. He reminded citizens of their shared responsibility to project the best image of the state to the world.

Converseer reports that the theme for the Thanksgiving is ‘Grace Upon Grace’.
