The community of Eyoabasi in Oron Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, on Friday, was filled with joy after Governor Umo Eno gifted a well-furnished house to a widow, Mrs Akon Uwe, who has seven children.
The gesture, CONVERSEER learned was part of Governor Eno’s ARISE Compassionate Homes Initiative, whose purpose is to house the homeless and vulnerable in Akwa Ibom.
The Governor also donated a whooping N500,000 cash to the vulnerable widow and her seven children, who for years knew no comfort of living in a conducive home.
Presenting the title documents and the cash (business support) to Mrs Uwe, Governor Eno, who was ably represented by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Waterways, Gen. Koko Essien, reminded the people of Oron that their socioeconomic boom was underway.
On her part, Mrs Uwe thanked the Governor for being so mindful of the vulnerable and underserved demographic.
The widow also promised to continually pray for the success of the administration’s ARISE Agenda.
