Governor Otu will complete all infrastructure projects - Morphy

CALABAR – Raphael Adoga Morphy, Special Adviser to Governor Bassey Otu on Projects and Programmes Monitoring and Evaluation, has reassured Cross Riverians that every project initiated by past and present administrations will reach completion under Governor Otu’s leadership.

Morphy, speaking during a site inspection of key road and airport works alongside the Director of Civil Engineering in his department, Engr. Dr Francis Idagu, emphasised the administration’s consistency in delivering equitable and accountable infrastructure for the state.

The delegation first assessed progress on the Ikom network of urban roads, noting significant earthworks and drainage installations.

At the Yache–Alifokpa 3 km road, side drains have been constructed and earthworks have reached an advanced stage, with stone base already laid in several sections. The Akreha–Okpoku bridge is similarly well advanced, with pier and deck works nearing completion.

In Ogoja, 90 per cent of the town’s network roads are finished, with final surfacing and signage scheduled for the coming weeks. At Obudu International Passenger and Cargo Airport, the 3km runway is under rapid development: 2km have been paved and marked, while work continues on the remaining kilometre.

Morphy stated, “We can assure you that these projects will not be abandoned. In the regime of our workaholic Governor, no project will be left incomplete, especially those initiated immediately. In about a month or two, we’ll be back to check the progress of the projects.”

He added: “This is a government committed to the people’s welfare. I also advise that you keep praying for the Governor because he is doing very well. I urge you to continue supporting the government from now until the end of his tenure and even beyond.”

The site inspection follows a series of recent project launches by Governor Otu’s administration, which has prioritised road connectivity and airport infrastructure to stimulate economic growth and improve access across Cross River State.
