The management of Havila University, Ikom in Cross River State has named President Bola Tinubu’s daughter, Chief (Dr) Mujidat Folasade Tinubu-Ojo as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the learning citadel.
The ceremony, CONVERSEER learned took place last Sunday during the 13th edition of the International Peace Achievers Award in Abuja.
Speaking shortly after unveiling Dr Tinubu-Ojo as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the institution at Oriental Hotel in Abuja, the President/Founder of Havila University, Hon. Jones Tangban said the management of the Institution found her worthy based on her wealth of experience which cut across different facets of life.
Tangban, a one-time House of Reps member representing Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency told LEADERSHIP said if Tinubu-Ojo’s experience is channelled into the affairs of the Institution, it can be catapulted to greater heights.
“We just finished unveiling Dr Folasade Ojo as the Institution’s Pro-Chancellor/Chairman of the Governing Council, hoping that the fortunes of the Institution would witness a turnaround given her pedigree in business and other facets of the life.
“We saw a lot of potential in her, and of course, with the capacity that she exhibits in business and several areas of life, we are sure of witnessing a transformation in the Institution,” Tangban said.

Disclosing further on why the president’s daughter emerged as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman on the same day at the 13th edition of the International Peace Achievers Award Abuja, the Havilla University President stated that it was like using one stone to kill two birds.
Tangban pledged to provide the necessary support needed by the Pro-Chancellor to discharge the enormous responsibility that is associated with the office so that the Institution can be taken to heights.
