The Ivorian Popular Front (FPI), led by former Prime Minister Pascal Affi N’Guessan, has called for the dissolution of the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI), citing major irregularities in the electoral roll ahead of the 2025 presidential elections.

Affi claimed that the process has lost legitimacy, credibility, and public trust, criticizing CEI President Ibrahime Coulibaly-Kuibiert for failing to account for six million unidentified individuals allegedly registered irregularly.

He pointed to the withdrawal of opposition parties PPA-CI and PDCI-RDA from the CEI as further proof of the commission’s compromised credibility.

He called on all CEI members to resign and vowed to pursue democratic means to push for reforms. Accusing the CEI of aligning with the ruling RHDP party to weaken opposition forces, he also condemned recent remarks by Coulibaly-Kuibiert that he said targeted the opposition.

Affi urged citizens to mobilize for democratic reform, stating that transparent elections and a reformed electoral body are essential to resolving the country’s political crisis.
