Kano Pillars Suspends Usman Abdallah for Three Weeks Due to Poor Performance and Fan Controversy

Kano Pillars FC have suspended their Technical Adviser, Usman Sheriff Abdallah, for three weeks following the team’s poor results  and his conduct towards fans after their goalless draw against Bayelsa United on NPFL Matchday 22.

Under the leadership of Chairman Alhaji Ali Muhammad Umar, the club made the decision as Sai Masu Gida continue to struggle for consistency, managing just one win in their last three matches.

The management and supporters have grown increasingly concerned over the team’s dip in form.

Abdallah had in August 2024 signed a two-year contract with an option for a third with Kano pillars.

Abdallah also had successful stint at Enyimba International FC which saw him lead the team to a Nigeria Premier Football League title in 2019.

Fan Incident Sparks Suspension

The disciplinary action was triggered by Abdallah’s post-match gesture toward fans at the Sani Abacha Stadium, which the club deemed inappropriate.

Kano Pillars emphasized their commitment to professionalism and maintaining a respectful relationship between the team and its passionate supporters.

Yaro-Yaro Takes Temporary Charge

During Abdallah’s suspension, club legend and Chief Coach Ahmed Garba Yaro-Yaro will step in to lead the team.

He will be supported by assistant coaches Abubakar Musa, Gambo Muhammad, Suleiman Shuaibu, and Ayuba Musa as they work to steady the squad.

Focus Shifts to Crucial Remo Stars Clash

Kano Pillars now turn their attention to a tough NPFL Matchday 23 fixture against Remo Stars in Ikenne, where they will aim to bounce back and restore confidence.
