Ottawa, Canada – Kevin O’Leary, a prominent entrepreneur and investor known for his role on Shark Tank, has hinted at a potential leadership role in Canada amid what he describes as a leadership vacuum under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
O’Leary, speaking to a U.S. audience, suggested he is positioning himself as a key figure in Canada’s political and economic landscape, indicating his ambition to foster closer economic ties with former U.S. President Donald Trump.
O’Leary floated the concept of an economic union between Canada and the United States, highlighting Canada’s abundant resources and economic potential.
“Think about the 40 million people, the size of California, unlimited resources, unlimited power, unlimited gas, unlimited water, unlimited lumber, unlimited everything,” he said, describing the benefits such a partnership could bring.
Addressing Trudeau’s challenges, O’Leary added, “Justin Trudeau is on his way out. So for the next five months, there’s a void in Ottawa… Thank goodness I’m here.”
His remarks suggest he sees an opportunity to influence Canada’s direction during this period of perceived instability.
O’Leary’s comments signal his readiness to take a prominent role in shaping Canada’s future, though he has not formally declared any political intentions.
