The General Superintendent of Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, was among the top Christian ministers who took part in a special programme put together by the United States government ahead of the inauguration of Donald Trump as the country’s 47th President.
The programme held on Sunday had in attendance hundreds of top pastors across the world with the Nigerian cleric standing out as he took centre stage to render his benedictions.
The moderator, who described Kumuyi as former mathematics professor and pastor of the third largest church in the world, asked him to pray for the US and he did not disappoint as he thanked God for the church in America and asked for wisdom for President Trump and unity for the church.
He said: “Almighty God, we thank you and bless your name. What a great and glorious God you are. And what a gathering we have this afternoon. We thank you for the church in America.
“You said upon this rock you will build your church not just for that generation but for all generations. And you said the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
“Lord we have come in preparations for the inauguration of Donald Trump the president tomorrow. We are asking you, to grant him wisdom and grant the church the unity, the knowledge and forthrightness to speak the truth to power.
“And we pray as you connect the church with the leader, we pray that it will be a good unity that will help the president and the church to remain the church.
“Revive the church and purge your church that there will be holiness and the righteousness you expect for your child and your church will have a meaningful ministry in government as well as in the nation.
“Confirm it oh Lord and answer the prayer of your people for this nation America in Jesus’ name we pray.”
After the programme, Kumuyi took to his X page to share pictures of himself in a meeting with Congressman Robert Pittinger and Pastor Lucas Miles of Turning Point USA (@TPUSA).
“It was great meeting with Congressman Robert Pittinger and Pastor Lucas Miles of @TPUSA yesterday, discussing how we can partner together for global evangelism as we prepare for the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump.
“The harvest is plentiful; let’s pray for open doors and hearts ready to receive the Gospel! We believe in the power of the Gospel to transform lives and nations. Exciting times ahead!” he wrote.
