NEW YORK (CONVERSEER) – Microsoft will push 25H2 updates to Windows 11 24H2 devices this fall through an enablement package (estimated update package size is less than 1MB).
According to Microsoft’s official update log, the Windows 11 25H2 update is similar to Windows 11 23H2. It is mainly pushed through the enablement package method with a file size of less than 1MB.
It is deployed through cumulative updates. It mainly enables hidden features on Windows 11 24H2 and enhances the stability of the system.
The update will include some notable changes, such as enabling a new Start menu with a grid and category layout. It will also introduce a new feature that will throttle CPU usage when Windows detects that the user is away from the PC.

It was reported that in terms of the release rhythm, Windows 11 25H2 will continue the “phased rollout” strategy, which means that in the early stages of the update release, not all users will be able to experience all new features immediately. This approach is intended to ensure stability and gradually cover global users.
In terms of technical architecture, Windows 11 25H2 will be based on the Germanium platform, and Microsoft plans to release it in the form of a lightweight “enabling package” or “cumulative update” rather than a complete operating system upgrade.
In terms of support cycle, Windows 11 25H2 is estimated to receive 24 months of security patches and bug fix support.
After the release of 25H2, 24H2 and previous feature updates will be gradually phased out, and Microsoft will no longer provide security update support for them.
