Names of 31 Commissioners sworn-in in Cross River State

The Governor of Cross River State, Prince Bassey Otu has sworn in 31 Commissioners into the State’s Executive Council.

The swearing-in took place on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at the temporary Governor’s Office, Dan Archibong Lodge, Calabar.

CONVERSEER reports the swearing-in of the 31 commissioners followed their confirmation by the State House of Assembly led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem on different occasions.

Speaking during the swearing-in, Governor Otu said: “All those appointed, you are not answerable to me alone but to God, so all your actions and intent must be guided.”

Earlier, Prof. Anthony Owan-Enoh, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) said: “Gentlemen, the party is over, you are coming to meet a detailed Governor, who is very meticulous about the business of administration. So be ready.”

The names of the 31 Commissioners sworn in are as follows:

4. Hon. Agnes Atsu
5. Hon. Patrick Egbede

6. Hon. Robert A. Ewa
7. Dr Egbe Ayuk
8. Dr Beatrice Igwe
9. Prince Eka Williams
10. Mr Oden Ewa

11. Hon. Moses Osogi
12. Barr. Odum Ijom Ukam
13. Hon. Ankpo Pius
14. Mrs Abiagil Duke
15. Hon. Lawrencia Ita

16. Chief Felix Idem
17. Pastor Ekpeyong Cobham
18. Ntufam Emmanuel Anom
19. Dr Hippolatus Ogar Lukpata
20. Hon. Edema Erom

21. Barr. Mensah Bassey
22. Barr. Ededem Ani

Recalled that Governor Otu had earlier sent two lists of Commissioner Nominees to the House of Assembly; the first list consisted of 26 names while the second had 7 names – making it a total of 33.

Out of the 33, Mrs Gladys Eutendala, and one other were not sworn in because they were rather not confirmed by the House due to petitions and, or other issues raised before the swearing.
