OPPO announced on Friday that the second batch of ColorOS 14 × Android 14 public beta update for the OPPO Pad 2 tablet has started. The upgrading period is from November 17 to November 22, 2023.

How to apply the update:

1. Make sure that the tablet version has been upgraded to the basic version 13.1.0.196 (To check the version number: Settings > About this machine > Version information > Version number).

2. ‎On the tablet, click “Settings > About this device > Top version information (above “Tablet name”) > Settings button in the upper right corner > Early adopter application > Upgrade to public beta”, and then follow the prompts to apply;

3. ‎It is expected that the review will be conducted in batches within 5 working days after the update ends. The review results will be displayed on the early adopter application interface of the tablet. The version will be pushed in batches after the review is completed.

OPPO stated that there are currently many commonly used third-party applications that are incompatible with Android 14.

After upgrading to Android 14, third-party applications may not be able to be used normally (such as crashes, freezes, black screens, power consumption, etc.). It is recommended that users first visit the App Store to attempt to update the app(s) to the latest version.

In addition, within two days after the upgrade, the system background will perform a series of adaptation and optimisation actions, which may cause the tablet to become overheated, freeze, and consume power quickly. It is recommended that users turn off the screen and charge for 2 hours before restarting the tablet after upgrading, or it will recover on its own after a period of normal use.
