The Police in Akwa Ibom have arrested 55-year-old lawyer, Barr. Ekere Sunday Ebong for beating and inflicting injuries on his wife.

Ebong was arrested after a video of him manhandling his wife (to the extent that neighbours had to intervene) went viral.

A statement by SP Odiko MacDon, Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) in Akwa Ibom on Monday, said the lawyer is known for his habitual act of violence against his wife.

MacDon said Ebong who resides at plot 40 L line Ewet Housing Estate, Uyo, the state capital, will be charged to court after they conclude investigations.
