Education has been the cornerstone of Ekpang’s success. He began his academic journey at the University of Calabar, where he earned a Diploma in Environmental Management (Education) in 1997. Undeterred by challenges, he pursued further studies, attaining a BSc (Hons) in Geography and Regional Planning in 2000. His thirst for knowledge continued, leading him to achieve an MSc in Geography and Environmental Science, specialising in Population, Environment, and Development in 2019. Presently, he is furthering his academic pursuits with a PhD in Geography and Environmental Science.
Erasmus Ekpang’s professional trajectory is as diverse as it is impressive. His experience as a Sales Manager at Car Link from 2003 to 2005 showcased his prowess in business. His impact extended to Senior Special Assistant (SSA) for Waste Management in Cross River State in 2020 and membership in the Governor’s Special Taskforce on Quarries in Cross River State.
One of his most influential positions was serving as the Director-General of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 2021. Ekpang’s leadership skills and dedication found another outlet when he was elected as the State Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State in October 2021, a role he held with distinction.
On August 16, 2023, Ekpang was sworn in as Cross River State Commissioner for Information by Governor Bassey Otu, alongside 30 others.
