The name Wonor Austin Ibu has become a household name within Cross River State and beyond in our security parlance as a security expert with a focus on domestic and regional security matters.
He currently serves in the Special Services Department of the Cross River State Government as a Special Adviser on Security Operations; a job he came into with a huge experience garnered both nationally and internationally over the years as a tested security professional.
As Special Adviser Security Operations, he is to assist Governor Bassey Otu in fine-tuning and implementing the governor’s security policies and programmes that are in sync with the “People First Mantra” of his administration.
A graduate of Environmental Protection and Resource Management from the University of Calabar, he had earlier obtained a Diploma in Public Administration from the same University. Wonor also has another degree in Intelligence and Security Studies from Esfam Benin in Benin Republic University as well as a Certificate in Disaster Management from the International Institute of Professional Security (IIPS).
Wonor has received several trainings on Business and Wealth Management from Hallmark Institute of Management and Innovation, Higher Professional Diploma in Maritime Transport, Shipping/Port Management from Certified Institute of Shipping of Nigeria. He has a master’s degree in security studies and strategic operations from Irsbacom University, Republic of Benin among other training on intelligence and high-profile exposures he got nationally and internationally on security matters.
Wonor brings a wealth of experience, expertise, and a proven track record in the field of intelligence with an extensive background in intelligence at the International Institute of Professional Security (IIPS) Professional International Institute of Professional Security (PIIPS), Psychological Operations and Strategic Communications at the Army Resource Center, Abuja, Msc Security Management and Strategic Operations and a PhD in-view.
The governor’s choice of Wonor has a lot to do with his profile, records and iconic breakthroughs over the years for his crime-bursting wits and patriotic disposition to his job. He possesses the necessary skills to effectively navigate complex security challenges and safeguard our state’s interests.
Gen. Champasky as fondly called, is also the Chairman, State Surveillance and Head of Civilian Joint Task Force with Operation Akpakwu. He is a veteran who has brought his wealth of experience to bear in his new assignment by piloting and implementing the security dimension of the governance vision of Governor Otu for a stable and prosperous Cross River State State.
