Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL 2024/2025), leaders Remo stars pulled off a dramatic comeback to beat Abia Warriors 3-2 at home on Wednesday, extending their lead at the top of the table to eight points.
After falling behind 2-0, Remo Stars launched a determined fightback to secure the win, with Franck Mawuena’s header in the 54th minute proving to be the decisive goal.
The victory saw them complete the double over Abia Warriors this season, taking their tally to 42 points from 21 matches and further solidifying their position at the top.

On the other hand, defending NPFL champions Enugu Rangers endured their second consecutive defeat, losing 2-1 to El Kanemi Warriors.
The loss dropped Rangers to sixth place with 31 points, as they continue to struggle for form.
El Kanemi, meanwhile, moved up to fourth place with 32 points from 20 matches, leaving Rangers with plenty to reflect on ahead of their next fixture.
In Uyo, Akwa United miserable form hit another low as the dropped points at home to fellow strugglers Lobi Stars.
Kennedy boboye remained winless after 2 games since his reappointment.
Lobi took the lead through Onyekachi Okafor fire cracker in the 28th minute.
Despite numerous opportunities the Promise Keepers failed to level up untill super sub Friday Apollos’s header in the 72nd minute.

Akwa remain 19th on the table with 20 points, Lobi stay 18th with 21 points as relegation fights deepens.
Elsewhere, Ikorodu United climbed to fifth place with a commanding 4-1 victory over Kano Pillars at home, bringing their points total to 31 from 21 matches.
Ladan Bosso led Bayelsa United thrashed Sunshine Stars 4-1 to move up to 11th place.
