Russia arrests 3 more Moscow attack plotters

The detention of three persons connected to the 22 March attack on Moscow was announced by Russian security agencies on Sunday, 31 March.

The suspects were taken into custody during operations in the southwest Russian Federation state of Dagestan, according to the nation’s anti-terrorist committee.

The cities of Kaspiyisk and Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, were the targets of the raids.

In a video released by the FSB, one of the suspects claims that they also had plans to launch an attack in Kaspiysk.

The FSB said in a statement that, “The detained militants directly participated in financing the perpetrators of the 22 March terror attack on the Crocus City Hall in Moscow and providing them with terror means.”

It stated that a suspect who was being held in Dagestan had admitted to giving the Moscow attackers weapons directly.

“The criminals scouted the location, made an improvised explosive device and acquired automatic weapons” in Dagestan, according to a report by the state news agency Tass. They intended to depart from Russia as soon as the terrorist incident occurred.

Ammunition and weapons were discovered in their apartments.

The Dagestani governor announced in a Telegram announcement that no one was hurt during the raid.

Sergey Melikov went on to say that suspects were apprehended and found after the area’s security measures were tightened in the wake of the ATTACK on a concert theatre in a Moscow suburb that claimed 144 lives.

Recall that on 22 March, 11 persons were taken into custody in link to the attack.
