During a recent interaction, President Donald Trump dismissed a question from a HuffPost reporter with a sharp rebuke, suggesting the media outlet is no longer relevant. The exchange occurred after the reporter raised a question concerning the Supreme Court and its authority.
The reporter asked, “JD Vance suggested that if the Supreme Court rules in a way that you don’t like, they could just enforce it by themselves. Do you agree with that?”
In response, Trump appeared dismissive and retorted, “I don’t even know what you’re talking about. Neither do you. Who are you with?”
When the reporter identified himself as being with HuffPost, Trump responded with a cutting remark: “Oh, no wonder. I thought they died. Are they still around? I haven’t read them in years. I thought they died.”
The comment underscores Trump’s longstanding adversarial relationship with certain media outlets, particularly those he perceives as critical of his administration. HuffPost, a progressive publication, has often been the target of his criticism.
The exchange took place as Trump continues his second term in office following his re-election in 2024. His remarks have reignited discussions about his contentious relationship with the press and his approach to handling media scrutiny.
HuffPost has not yet issued a response to the president’s remarks.
