UNICAL Student Wins Queen Of Humanity Cross River Pageant

A 300-level student of the Department of Economics, University of Calabar, UNICAL, Miss Margaret Ekpo emerged as the winner of the maiden Queen of Humanity Cross River Pageant 2023.

Miss Ekpo, age 22, is an indigene of Akwa Ibom. She’s a young entrepreneur in the makeup artistry industry and the CEO of Megz Allure.

She went home with a whooping sum of N5,000,000 (Five Million Naira), a Sports Utility Vehicle, SUV and other consolidated prizes.

In the same vein, 23-year-old Vivien-Edemanwan Effanga Okon, from Akpabuyo, Cross River State emerged as the 1st runner-up

Miss Okon is a chef and an aviator. She has a degree in tourism and event management and hopes to open a fine-dining restaurant one day.

CONVERSEER reports that Governor Bassey Otu replaced the Miss Africa pageantry introduced by his predecessor, Sen. Ben Ayade with the Queen of Humanity pageant.

The pageantry is being championed by the wife of the governor, Rev. Eyoanwan Otu, and was held on Wednesday 27 December 2023 at the Calabar International Convention Centre, CICC, Calabar.
