Spanish club Valencia is reportedly considering a £9 million (€10.5 million) move to sign Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar on a permanent deal from Real Sociedad.
The 27-year-old forward joined Valencia on loan in January after struggling for regular game time at Real Sociedad. Although he initially found it difficult to establish himself in the team, he made a major impact last weekend, scoring twice in Valencia’s 3-3 draw against Osasuna.
Sadiq’s performance has earned praise from Valencia head coach Carlos Corberan, who could push for the club to trigger the purchase clause in his loan deal. However, Valencia’s decision to sign him permanently will depend on whether they secure their La Liga status for next season.
Sadiq struggled to make an impact at Real Sociedad, with injuries and a lack of opportunities limiting his progress. However, at Valencia, he is beginning to show glimpses of his best form.
