We Need to Reconcile Kwankwaso and Ganduje — Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, Chairman of the House Committee on Housing and Habitat

The Chairman of the House Committee on Housing and Habitat, Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, has called for immediate reconciliation between former Kano State Governors Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.  Speaking during a radio interview in Kano on Thursday, January 16, Jibrin described the ongoing feud between the two prominent political figures as not only unfortunate but also detrimental to the states progress. Jibrin appealed to the people of Kano, urging them to unite in efforts aimed at bringing the two leaders back together for the benefit of the state. The lingering feud between these two political giants is detrimental to Kano. I believe that it is urgent and necessary for us to reconcile them, Jibrin said. Well-meaning citizens must come together to resolve this issue. The House Chairman also emphasized the significant contributions both Kwankwaso and Ganduje have made to public service. He outlined their accomplishments, noting Kwankwasos rise from the Kano State Civil Service to Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, his two terms as Governor, Minister of Defence, Senator, and presidential aspirant. Similarly, he highlighted Ganduje’s journey from a civil servant to director in the Federal Capital Territory, commissioner, deputy governor, and two-time governor, now serving as the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Not everyone is chosen by God to hold these offices, Jibrin remarked. They have both been uniquely blessed, and it is our responsibility to reconcile them. Jibrin further attributed many of Kanos political challenges to the ongoing strain in the relationship between the two men. He called on the supporters of both leaders to prioritize peace and unity above political differences. As Muslims, it is our duty to do the right thing by reconciling them. They were once close friends and accomplished many things together. What is happening now is sad and painful. This is a time to embrace peace, unity, and progress, he urged. In a bid to encourage reconciliation, Jibrin urged Kwankwaso and Ganduje to set an example for their followers by attending each others family events, regardless of their political affiliations. He suggested that Kwankwaso should attend the wedding of Gandujes daughter, and Ganduje should reciprocate by attending the wedding of Kwankwasos son. Politics is their choice, but reconciliation is our duty, Jibrin stated, calling for a more peaceful and united Kano. He ended his remarks with a prayer for those who oppose the reconciliation efforts, asking Allah to guide them toward the right path. The call for reconciliation comes at a crucial time for Kano State, as the political atmosphere remains tense due to the ongoing divisions between these two influential figures. The post We must reconcile Kwankwaso and Ganduje Chairman of the House Committee on Housing and Habitat, Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
