The Cross River State Government has called on youths to act as vigilantes in their local communities and charged them to lead the vanguard of securing their neighbourhood.
The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Emmanuel Ironbar, made the call when the APC Ward 10 in Calabar South LGA celebrated his first anniversary in office on Tuesday.
He described the youths as the main energy of the party, charging them to continue to exhibit their leadership prowess in the party and their neighbourhood.
“Our party will not tolerate any crimes that our youths are linked to. We must continue to show leadership examples. I want you to constitute vigilante committees in your local communities that will thwart any criminal activities,” Ironbar said.

“The state governor is all out to nip crimes in the bud and so we must all give our support so that our state will remain crime-free and attract investors,” he added.
He assured the youths of more government appointments if they continued to maintain peace and ensure crime-free communities.
