Military Targets Wanted Bandit Leader Bello Turji: Son Killed, Camp and Food Supplies Destroyed

140 Days Post CDS Musa’s Promise: Bello Turji Launches New Raid, Abducts Worshippers from Mosque

Nigeria’s most wanted terrorist, Bello Turji on Wednesday night, struck again when he led a band of renegades to attack a mosque in Shanawa community of Zamfara State.

A security expert in the northern region, Dan Katsina, who shared the news of the attack on X on Thursday morning, said the notorious bandit leader abducted several worshippers during the violent assault while scores of others were seriously injured.

“Last night, during the Isha prayer, Bello Turji led his gang to attack worshippers in Shanawa community, injuring four people and kidnapping an unspecified number of individuals,” Dan Katsina wrote.

“They later stormed Shinkafi town around 10 p.m., where they also abducted several people.

“As of the time of filing this report, security forces have not yet released an official statement regarding the latest attack,” he added.

The attack is coming over 140 days after the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Christopher Musa boasted that the Nigerian military would arrest Turji and bring him to justice for the atrocities he has committed.

The CDS had, during a press conference in Abuja on September 10, boasted that it was just a matter of time before the dreaded bandit whom he describing as deranged would meet his waterloo. But the criminal continues to run wild, killing and destroying lives, with the Nigerian military under Gen Musa’s watch still unable to bring his reign of terror to an end.
